The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir was honored as the best construction in the suburbs for not only its unique founding of traditional Indian stone architecture and engineering but also for its positive cultural and spiritual impact on Bartlett and the entire Chicagoland community. The Chicago Building Congress (CBC), is an association which represents the Chicagoland building industry – including architects, engineers, trade unions, financiers and government units. The Merit Award is judged by a panel of 16 distinguished members of the CBC. This year’s Merit Award had more than 49 submissions.

International collaboration results in colossal stone structure

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Bartlett, IL, truly stands as a symbol of the ancient heritage and craftsmanship of traditional Indian temples, consisting of almost 43,000 square feet of Turkish limestone and approximately 33,000 cubic feet of Carrara marble, notes writer Jennifer Adams

AIA 150 Great Places

The American Institute of Architects  selected BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple,Bartlett as one of the 150 Great Places in Illinois. An award will be presented to BAPS Mandir representatives at a later date to be coordinated with the AIA.
