Aksharbrahma Gunatitanand Swami (1785 – 1867)

  • He was the first spiritual successor of Bhagwãn Swaminarayan.

Shri Ghanshyaam Mahãrãj

  • Bhagwãn Swaminarayan was known by the name of ‘Ghanshyaam’ in His childhood.

Shri Harikrishna Mahãrãj

  • This is another name for Bhagwãn Swaminarayan.

  • This sacred image (murti) is made from five pure metals: 1) Gold, 2) Silver, 3) Copper, 4) Iron, and 5) Lead.

Shri Radhã – Krishna

  • Shri Krishna is the incarnation of Vishnu, who graced the world about 5,000 years ago.

  • His closest devotee is Radhã.

Shri Neelkanth Varni

  • Lord Swaminarayan, known as Neelkanth Varni in His teenage years, left home at the tender age of eleven and embarked upon a pilgrimage of India to redeem humanity

Bhagatji Maharaj (1829 – 1897)

  • He was the second successor of Bhagwãn Swaminarayan.

Shastriji Maharaj (1865 – 1951)

  • He was the third successor of Bhagwãn Swaminarayan.

  • He established the present organization known as the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) in the year 1907.

Yogiji Maharaj (1892 – 1971)

  • He was the fourth successor of Bhagwãn Swaminarayan.

  • He focused on children and youth development activities and also promoted spirituality and service to society.

Pramukh Swami Maharaj (1921 – Present)

  • He is the fifth successor of Bhagwãn Swaminarayan and the present Guru.

  • He is the inspirer of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Bartlett, Chicago, IL.

Shri Rãm – Sitã

  • Shri Rãm is the incarnation of Vishnu and the divine hero of the Rãmãyana scripture.

  • Sitã, wife, queen, and devotee of Shri Rãm, teaches fidelity, true love, ‘motherness’, faith, and other virtues of the ideal wife and devotee.

Shri Hanumãnji

  • He was the leader of Shri Rãm’s army created to defeat Rãvana and rescue Sitã.

Shri Uma - Maheshwar

  • Maheshwar (Shiv) fulfills the destroyer aspect of the divine Trinity. Brahma is the creator and Vishnu is the sustainer.

  • Uma (Pãrvati) is the perfect devotee of Shiv and is represented as his inseparable consort.

Shri Ganeshji

  • Ganesh is the elephant-headed son of Shiv and Pãrvati, who is highly adored in Hinduism.
